Steven’s military career includes five years with the USMC and four additional years with the US Army, MD National Guard. Steven served as a team leader on an explosive munitions assembly team. He is cross-trained as an aerial observer, a provost marshal, a hazardous material preparer, and a designated marksman. Steven’s training and knowledge include urban warfare, amphibious assaults, and NBC warfare. He was honorably discharged as an E-5 (Sgt.).
Steven’s Law Enforcement career began in 2003 with the United States Capitol Police. In 2007 Steven transferred to a major metropolitan police department. He has worked uniformed patrol, plain clothes, narcotics interdiction, and gang investigations. He also served as a member of the department’s decentralized SWAT team and was certified as a sniper and tactical medic. Steven is also a certified EMT, TCCC, and Combat Life Saver. Steven completed various instructor certifications, including Defensive Tactics and General Knowledge Instructor.
Steven holds a Black Belt level in ICS, has tested and earned his second-degree black belt in Skornik Israeli Combat in Israel, and has advanced ranks in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay-Thai, Capoeira, USMC combative martial arts, and US Army Combatives.
